Scrap the music - a good life

Scrapping the music. This time to lovely One Republic's song "it's a good life". Reading the lyrics I found the words "we have so much to feel good about" and these words got stuck in my head (now they are stuck on my page ...,he,he...).

Creating this page, I used a paper from My minds eye, some Tiny Tape from Cosmo Cricket, a sizzix die cut butterfly, pieces from a 7 gypsies paper and some different masking tapes.

This picture is from a lovely summer evening in Moliets-et-Maa in France. Once a year we make a beach party with our friends and this is from one of those evenings. Who knows - maybe this year again?

I'm still SO much in love with that craft colour - well it ever end?

Best wishes from Luxemburg!

the whatevers - here called Henry and Mathilda

Nathalie Kalbach and friends invited us all to join their new challenge called the whatevers. This photo was  downloaded from her site and now it was up to me to find a story behind the pic...

...and here we go...

Henry and Mathilda

Brother and sister, living together with their parents in the south of Sweden.

... Tilly (Mathilda) always wanted to have loooong hair like Lucinda ( the most popular girl in class) -  long, blond and curly. Instead she had dull, rat brown, straight hair and her mother always insisted on keeping it straight back in a knot to keep her beautiful eyes free. But then, of course, everybody could see her "outstanding" ears...

Henry hated to sit still like this. The only thing he could think of was if he had closed the barn door or not. He was not allowed to be in the barn without his parents approval , but today he just couldn't stop himself. He had tried to get friends with the one year old fowl a long time now and TODAY he had been able to stay on it's back for at least 30 seconds!!! When he heard his mother calling he got into a hurry and MAYBE, just MAYBE he forgot to close the door... IF he forgot - where would the horse be now...  and what if father finds out that he had taken the fowl out...?

This is my story to go with the picture.

If you would like to join this creative storytelling, you can find the details here.

Great fun!

A color combo for Art journal café

The Art Journal Cafe would like to see some color combo this time.

The dylusion colors would have been too bright so I used the Neocolors II. Maybe the red got too red, but I like it like that. The "quote" is a text found on Pinterest yesterday - I relly like the part "get inspired or get depressed" as well as the part" dance on tables or sit in the corner"...

The stamps are from Dina Wakley and the swedish company reprint.

Some doodling and the spread was finished.

Hope you like it!

Art Journal cover for craftbarn

Hello again!

This is my entry to the craft barns challenge this week. The theme is to create an art journal cover with masks or stencils.

I used the mini circus banner  and the ledger mask from the crafters workshop.
I made this cover with a lot of gesso, the neocolors II, drawing inks and some dylusions. The stamps are from sodalicious and journal stamps.

We just spent 5 days in Sweden with some good friends. We had some gorgeous weather with sun and 17-22 °C. Perfect for tourists!

Today the sun is licking our faces in Lux too, but otherwise we have only seen rain since easter... Let's enjoy!

Wish you all the best out there!

Art journal cafe (preparing backgrounds)

This was hard work -that  I have to admit !

I don't know how many times I started from scratch...

In the end I realized that I would never finish this page if i didn't stay true to my self. When my husband sees this he will say "typically  you, Lena", I'm sure.

MY colours, MY "drippage" (à la Donna Downey),  MY beloved Dina Wakley stamp and a new mask from Crafters workshop.

The colours are all the brilliant dylusion ink sprays. BUT here is my problem - I can't use them like other people do - I doesn't work for me. Either I don't like the result OR it just looks horrid for everyone. My solution was to smear them on with wet wipes and that makes me happy!!!

This is my entry to Art Journal Cafe.

Hope you all like it!

Hugs!

Lena

LET'S FLY for Art Journal Journey

This is my journal spread for Art Journal Journey this month.

I used a lot of stamps; birds from Tim Holtz and la Blanche, feathers from Artemio and Heindesign, the background is stamped with a foamstamp from Making memories and the text is from Royal Brush.

The colours are all acrylics neon. Very exciting to work with these colours - they really do shine!

I'm having problems with the browser here -  can't get the hyperlink to work... Sorry about that!

...to see how far one can get... well, sometimes it is quit good to try new and different things - just to see how it works out.

Take care out there and don't push it too far!

"a summers ball" for crafty individuals

This is my contribution to Crafty Individuals challenge "a summers ball".

I used dylusion ink sprays and distress inks as well. The background stamp is from CI and the faces too. The other stamp is from Prima marketing.

Lovely challenge - got my head working and the mojo jumping...
