Magic for SODAlicious

Inspired by the blue and turquoise on the "pops of 9-10" from ILS, I made this spread for the art journal no 17 at SODAlicious.

I used stencils, journalcard, chipboard elements and stamps from their shop. The only stamp which does not come from the shop is the arrow and the dots from Felicitas Klink.
Whenever I try to order the arrow stamp from SODAlicious, it is sold out...

Art journal no 17 is about  "MAGIC" and this is my entry to the challenge.

Wish you all a nice sunday!

Take care out there!

My finished calendar for 2013

Here you see my 12 calendar cards made for THE CRAFT BARN challenge. I loved every minute of it!

Now I will put them together with bookrings and enjoy every single month of the new year, remembering what I thought of creating these 12 cards.

Hope you like them too!

Lena

old things out / new things in

What a weird thing - totally crazy and I love it!

At the Stampotique designers challenge Claire would like to know what we could use of old stuff together with new stuff (that might have arrived with Santa some days ago...!)...

Here is my contribution - an "old" ( but still adorable) stamp from Stampotique, "old" stars from Jo Copper Sandon (Stampotique) and "old" colours (PanPastel+acrylics +Dylusion inks)...

combined with...

NEW ribbon, NEW buttons, NEW masks and NEW ice cream color combination!!!

Hope you like it - it felt great to get started again!

Bring it on - 2013!

Happy friday!

the last calendar card for the craft barn

Finally! I did it! ...and I loved it.
To be honest, it was difficult to keep going those last couple of weeks, but here we are!!!

This last card should have something embossed according to the theme at the craft barn.

I used one of Tim Holtz' christmas embossing folders and then colored my card with distress inks. On my doily I stamped two hearts(Panduro) and embossed with christmas red to add the right colour. The bakers twine is a symbol of christmas wrapping and the stickers are just details to show how much we all would like some frosty temperatures instead of this horrid rain...

So, ladies, this is my last calendar card - I sure enjoyed the challenges and I hope to join in again next year!

I wish you all a merry christmas and I hope to meet you again in 2013!

Take care our there!

Some christmas cards

I am NOT good at making cards. This year I got help from Pinterest though... I do like my snowman on the art journal background. And the christmas tree kept clean and simple.

Happy monday!

An Angel for AJJ

Same problem here. No good light for photos....SORRY again!

THis is my spread for Art Journal Journey this month. The theme is angels.

I used the PanPastels again and once again the Studio Calico's mask "Mr Huey's". I love the effect of the modelling paste through the mask - the stars are just sooo cute!

The stamps are from l'encre et l'image, tuscan rose and Tim Holtz.

Once again - happy saturday!

Lena

Circles on my calendar card no 11

First of all - I'M SO SORRY for the bad photo. December is a "dark" month and we miss the light. Early afternoon and still no brightness. Just felt that I had to post it anyway, because tomorrow the next theme is due at the craft barn.

The theme this week was "circles".

I used my funky circles from Provocraft and I embossed the circles with an animal print from Cuttlebug and then coloured them with a distress ink.

Happy saturday!

Calendar challenge no 10

Here we go again...
I don't know what happened last week - SOOO much inspiration from all over and no urge to create myself...? I just couldn't be bothered.

But here we are - very late , but still. My 10th calendar card for the Craft Barn, where the challenge last week was "trees".
As usual, I used my Fancy Pants' calendar cards. The rest is a stamp from the swedish company Replay, some lovely "tree style" washi tape and a tree die from Tim Holtz.

Hope you all like it!

I made this last year and I still love it. I remember how fun it was to collect numbers and "stuff".
Think I will keep it many years!

Calendar card no 9

And here it is - the 9th calendar card for the craft barn. This week the theme is a colour combination with white, teal and rust; I have to admit that my rusty colour is more orange than rusty, but I did add some barn door distress ink to get it more rusty...

The stamps are from unity stamp(brick wall), Kaiser Craft (checker plate), Felicitas Klink and Elles studio...

...and the little fellow in the heart is a "tin pin" from october afternoon.

Wish you all the best!

Lena

SPARKLE for crafty individuals.

Sparkle is the word at the crafty individuals this month.

I used a background stamp and the angel stamp from CI and then added modelling paste through a Huey's mask (stars). The colours are all PanPastel.
I'm not sure if it's possible to see, but I did add some Ranger stickles in gold as well as 3 small stars from Kars.

In the end I finished a small tag in the same style and decorated it all with the orange bakers twine.

So, let them stars shine!

Christmas gift roundup

Today is the last day to enter Kuretakes challenge about christmas gifts and wrapping.
I just finished these 4 paperbags, one for each sunday of advent, and I did use my ZIG embossing pen and 4 different ZIG wink of stella.
I our family the children are in that age when money is always needed so I fill the bags with some homemade choclate AND money - and I'm sure they will love it wrapped in like this.

Happy I finished them just in time for the Kuretake deadline!

Take care out there!

A colorcombo for AJC

Here we go again!

I feel so happy! Everything seems to be just fine at the moment so I have decided to feel happy from the head down to my toes and I entend to stay like this as long as I can - instead of taking everything for granted...

I made this page , using the colours from Art Journal Café.

I used different masks and stencils to build up layers, and in between I painted with inks and gesso.
The only stamp used is a "brick wall" from Unity stamp. The lettres are from 3 different alphabets( tiding up à la Donna Downey...) and the embellishments are found articles + a Tim Holtz die cut (sizzix). And then, of course, the washi tapes.

Hope you like it!

Wish you all happiness ...

My august card for the craft barn.

This week the challenge from the craft barn is "children or cute".

I made my card as cute as I could using paper from nikkivils "my lil' monster". No stamps today! Weird - I love my stamps!

NATURE for stampotique

I made this tag to join the challenge at Stampotique designers challenge. The theme is nature.

Right now our beautiful country Luxemburg is grey and humid. I look forward to the first snow. Can you smell when the first snow is about to fall? I love the clean, white landscape when all the old leaves and the dirt is covered.

I used only stampotique stamps and die cuts from sizzix.

...can you smell the silence..?

I do enjoy their challenges - totally different, don't you think?

Happy saturday (even if it's a grey one!)!

My Africa for AJJ

Africa!

We went to South Africa a couple of years ago - wonderful place!

This spread is about what I remember from that trip. A collage of memories.

Hope you like it!

Stamps from Artemio and tuscan rose. This spread is made for the monthly challenge at Art Journal Journey.

Lena

a fabric tag for the artful times!

This is my fabric tag for artful times.

I went through my patchwork fabric box and made a kind of collage with different bits and pieces. This will be my husbands next travel/suitcase tag. It is far easier to find the suitcase at the airport if you have a different tag - most suitcases look alike I think...

I stamped with " Weltbummler" stamps from Stephanie Berger.

Glad to get the dust of my sewing machine again!

Cambodia souvenirs

Cambodia is a beautiful country with very friendly and polite people. A country trying to rise out of poverty, still suffering from the war of the red kmer. A country wich could need some help.

I would just like to show you something that I found was a great idea;
Souvenirs made of old cement bags. I bought some and I really use my bag every day - still like the very first day! So, no bad quality and looking great!

Please go and check what else they have made out of these bags - I don't know how expensive the shipping is, or even how long it takes go get the stuff home. I just know that it took our postcards almost 4 weeks to get to Europe. Maybe to late for this christmas, but still worth checking for another time.

Info - my shoulder bag costed me approx. 4 USD.

Angkor recycled. Handmade in Cambodia.

Good luck!

My junk style book à la Janna Werner and Felicitas Klink

Mid october Jaine and I went to Scrapbook Werkstatts Mega Event in Germany. Here we were taught by Janna Werner and Felicitas Klink to make a Junk Style Mini Album.
Finally I finished it and I'm really happy with the project.

I mostly used stamps from Felicitas Klink, but also stamps from SODAlicious and l'encre et l'image.
The photos are all from last holiday, as my daughter and I ended up in a fishtank in Siam Reap in Cambodia.
We had a gorgeous time, but it was very hard to keep the feet in the water as they were eating dead skin from our feet. That's why I call it "making friends - feeding friends".

Great evening at the night market!

Cambodia rocks!

Calendar card no 7

This is my 7th calendar card for the craft barns weekly challenge. The theme this week is "candles" - difficult for me!

The only thing I could think of was my old "chandelier" - a sizzix die.

I used patterned paper, gesso, stamps from l'encre et l'images, a calendar card from fancy pants, some dotty ribbon and small stars.

Happy tuesday!

the whatevers no 5

May I proudly present Tram No 38 going from The Vienna City ring to Dornbach 17th district and back again!

Helmut was very proud this very first day at work! NOTHING would happen to this wonderful wagon as long as he was in charge. Sitting there in that front seat, high above the pedestrians, made him feel kind of important and if somebody didn't see him he would promptly pull the string and the clock sound would start. He enjoyed seeing how the people jumped aside by the sound, as well as he loved the children running after and trying to catch up with the wagon, as it started going after each stop.

So this was a very important day in Helmuts' life, as he stood there whith his collegue posing for the photografers....

This is my 5th entry to Nathalie Kalbachs' exciting story telling called "the whatevers". Great fun!
To join in or just to get more information , you can check it out here.

The background is made with different stencils and masks as well as gesso and texture paste and later coloured with dylusion and disteress inks.
The stamps are from My Stamp Box and Kesi' art stamps. I doodled some strings and added this gorgeous washi tape from Scrapbook Werkstatt.

I wish you all a great, sunny start of the weekend!

...and suddenly the sun came back!

I take many walks these days, as I'm not allowed to work because of an OP in my shoulder. I love my "Juckelsbesch" and the forest there. My little phone might not be the best one, but I love the retro style photos I can make with it.

After rain comes sun, and so it did!

Not only weather wise - my mojo was "hurt" too. Today though, I could finish the blogbanner, thanks to Jaine and that really made my day!

Wish you all a lot of sunshine!

Calendar card no 6 - june.

The 6th card for the challenge at the craft barn.

I used patterned paper bits, gesso, calendar card, felt, dylusion spray inks and the cuttlebug (spooky fence+flower with heart and stem).

The weather here is grey, grey, grey and wet, wet, wet... not a nice monday! It can only get better!

Wish you a nice and crafty day!

orange, white and brown...

This is the tag I've made for the artful times.

I suppose I'm still in a halloween mood as this turned out to be a bit spooky.

The background is painted with gesso to get a texture and then with black panpastel. When it was dry I emossed with Rangers seafoam white using a crackle stamp from the swedish company YOU DO.
Tree and rings were cut out with the cuttlebug.
The gate is metal work from Prima marketing and the stamps are from technique tuesdays' Ali Edwards.

I decorated it with some facet adhesive stones and stickles and ended it all with orange bakers twine.

Have a nice sunday!

Lena

Calendar card no 5 - may.

I have been busy in my basement - trying to finish the junk style mini album provided by Janna Werner and Felicitas Klink at the mega event in Germany a couple of weeks ago. It still isn't ready to show, but I'm working on it...

This is my calendar card with paper tape for the 5th challenge at the craft barn.

The background is made with gesso, panpastels, stamps from Felicitas Klink and different paper tapes.

Halloween canvas.

I didn't find anything spooky to decorate my house with, so I had to create it myself.
This canvas took a long time to finish as it had to dry between the layers. It might not be the very best creation, but it'll do for now.

I used stamps from CI, Tuscan rose and death by Klimt, the sizzix tree and raven and a lot of black gesso and acrylics. The photo is from a cemetery at Morro de Sao Paolo in Brazil.

I really enjoyed making this - Halloween may come!

So,  this is my entry to Creavils' Halloween challenge.

Nice to try something completely different!

"LET IT GO" for STM

First of all - a big thank you to dear Frauke, who sent me a lovely goodie bag from STM the last time I participated! Thank you! It was very much appreciated!

Linkin' Park singing "let it go" at "kraschnaja ploschidsch"= the red square in Moscow... I fell in love ! Don't think I ever heard that tune before and now I can't stop listening to it! And then , of course, I love the expression of the keyborder's face when he hears the crowd singing and joining in. It must be an extraordinary feeling to perform in front of , and WITH, an audience like that!

I made this journal page listening to that song. You can find the info about the challenge as well as the lyrics  here, at scrapping the music .

To let go is about accepting changes, I think. My stamp here says "when you are through changing, you are through" - very true!

Finally the grey clouds reached Luxemburg and the temperature fell as well - winter is approaching!

Wish you all a wonderful weekend!

Lena

My april calendar card.

This is my 4th calendar card for the craft barn. The theme was to doodle , and so I did.

... looking at the date, I just realize that today, 23 years ago, we moved from Austria to Luxemburg. Austrias national day today...

Great fun!

My autumn page.

My entry to color your world, october.
We were supposed to use something from nature on the page - I used tree leaves, wheat and corn leaves.
The picture is from last year - just after the first frosty night and  this will probably happen again tomorrow night.

I ADORE the colours outside right now!!!

I was allowed out today and a friend brought me to my beloved "Juckelsbesch" for a nice walk. Gorgeous!

Wish you all some great autumn colors!

March , calendar card "yellow, white and green".

... and this is the 3rd and last one for today - The Craft Barns' calendar challenge 3 - march.

I'm using all my new stuff from the mega event at Scrapbook Werkstatt last weekend. I feel very lucky that I am able to use my left hand even though I have to keep my shoulder in one position. I don't feel much pain either...

Before the mega event and before going to hospital, I prepared some backgrounds so I could keep up with the different activities in the blog world. So great to have internet when I'm not allowed to leave the house!!!

Once more.... - happy Sunday!

Calendar 2013 February

The Calendar 2013 at the Craft Barn for February is all about BRIGHT colors.

Wishing you all a nice and sunny sunday  - AGAIN!

Calendar 2013 for the craft barn - JANUARY

Some scrappers I admire more than others, and Laury 55 definitely is one of them. She uses the colors I like and the style is similar to mine as well (well, so I think anyway...:-)).

Checking her blog the other day, I found out that the Craft Barn is doing a calendar for 2013 right now.
I'm late joining , but not too late.

So this is my calendar card for January 2013, using vellum. The info is to be found here.

Wish you all a nice and sunny Sunday!

"Anything can be a stamp" for AJC

This is my entry to AJC's theme; anything can be a stamp.

I used punchinella to stamp with as well as to stamp through. Bubblewrap, DUPLO , creditcard and some bottle lids as stamps and I ended it all with my new favorite stamp from Unity stamps;

Enjoy the weekend!

Need a hug?

A wall hanging given to me and made by Jaine. She used her stamps from My Stamp Box. I think it is gorgeous!

I will try to keep away from medication today as I felt dizzy and tired yesterday. The nurse will come and change the bandage and I will take a nice walk in the sunshine to my first appointment at the kinesitherapist.

And then it's weekend!
And sunny!
And a big wedding in Luxemburg as the Prince Guillaume will marry his Stephanie....

Wish you all a great weekend!

Fur or feathers for Artful times.

I dropped the fur and went for feathers instead.
This is my entry to artful times 15th challenge "fur or feather".

Last weekend I went to Scrapbook Werkstatt's Mega Event 2012 and there I met Felicitas Klink (one of the 2Frollein), who started the german scrap magazine "die Scrapperin".
I fell in love with Felicitas' stamps and here I use them on this tag.

I am very happy to be home again - hospital is just no fun!
I am able to move more than I thought I would be, so this is a very happy surprise. Before I went to hospital, I had prepared some backgrounds, so I still would be able to join some challenges and keep myself busy.

I wish you all a sunny thursday!

What a weekend!

We sure had some great fun at Gut Hühnerhof in Germany this weekend! Workshops from morning 'til evening saturday and sunday. We made a junk album with the 2 Frollein, Photo shooting and a lay-out with Stephanie Berger, a 'vintage chic' album with Donna Downey and a mini album with Amy Tangerine.

The food was excellent (once it got there),and the place itself, was perfect for a weekend like this!

Thank you, Scrapbook Werkstatt, for a great weekend, inky fingers and happy inspiration!

Now I'm off to hospital, for my first OP ever... a bit scary!!!

Hope to be back as soon as possible!

My "indian summer" for Art Journal Journey

Happy monday out there!

This week could have had a better start, but who am I to complain...?

At least I can put these pages on the blog and join Art Journal Journey's theme Indian summer.

We had an indian summer a couple of weeks ago, but now warm weather is gone. We still have the gorgeous colours though and I expect it to get even better and more colourful in the end of this month.

The start of my summer book 2012

I had to wait a long time for the photos to arrive, but now they are HERE!

I started with finishing the cover page, using stamps from Kesi'art and My Stamp box.
Tomorrow will be the big test - do I have space enough for all the photos?

Love it, love it, love it!!!
