Christmas wishes

Just wanted to send you all the best wishes for christmas and show you one of my christmas cards this year. The idea is from Dani Rogall and I simply fell in love when I saw her own composition and I had to try myself.

The other card is one that my friend Katherine gave us this year. Katherine loves her cuttlebug and her work is always so neat and perfect - how come I can never work like that...??? ... ... ...

Enjoy!

emilies snow angel

My christmas quilt

finally snow!

We went running this morning and YES it was a bit slippery but at that time we could still DO IT. Going into the village the sign told us that we were running 10 km/h and I was very proud of myself. Now it looks like this:

Love it, love it, love it...!!!

And I assume and hope that tomorrow when I have to go to work the roads will be clear again - if not, I will NOT love it anymore...

Let's hope, hope, hope...!

Stamps from cherrypieartstamps, sutter stamps, inqueboutique and "it's about me".

Santa and his helpers for wednesdaystampers

Just finished this christmas card to Denmark. Santa is a picture of grandpa many years ago when he still used to dress like Santa who brought the presents to the children ( in Skandinavia the children actually see Santa when he comes...) The helpers are the girlies from stampotique, star is a stamp from laundry line and the text is a christmas stamp from panduro. Hope you all like it!

" scrap a la fraise" workshop with "lilith"

After a stupid week with a lot of stupid things happening, I really enjoyed going to a workshop with "lilith" from "scrap a la fraise" to alter a book. We used almost everything; scraps of fabric, scraps of paper, beads, thread, metall, wire, old hinges, felt.... Loved getting into the scrap feeling again...
My fathers birthday is coming up so I took the opportunity to honour him the whole day yesterday - the result you see here!

MAPS for wednesdaystampers

Background ; alcohol inks and Tim Holtz' stamp como13 (sorry, hard to see the map but it IS there!)
The boys are from a stamp I once bought from crafty individuals without checking the size - it is really tiny!
AND the mapsticker was a gift from dear Katherine, who brought it home from Australia one christmas.
Thanks for looking!

a "journal box" for my mother in law

This is an idea from the scandinavian scrappers Stampartic. I made it for my mother in law for her birthday this coming sunday - HAPPY BIRTHDAY CILI!

Inside the box you have some 220-250 questions about her life.

The person who gets the box takes the questions, one by one, glues them into the little book and answeres them. This can take months but can be a nice thing to do for elderly people who have all the time in the world. And for them it can be a good thing to try to remember aswell. To answer the question " how was your very best christmas?" isn't easy. First you have to try to remember ALL christmases and then chose one and try to describe why it was the best one...

I'm sure Cili will love it!

Zettiology

Zettiology! I thought we were talking stamps so I decided not to join the challenge ( because I still don't have those stamps!). But then I thought that I would like to try and make my own zettiology and I started to watch the wonderful tutorials that WS recommended - and I FELL IN LOVE WITH THAT STYLE!!!
Wednesday I said NO, thursday I started thinking, friday I continued thinking and started scanning my old patchwork fabrics into black and white paper and now I've spent the whole evening in the basement...
Hope you all like it!
Enjoy your weekend!

My husband in the kitchen!

A couple of weeks ago my dear husband started to show an interest in cooking and he is getting better and better. I really enjoy this!
Here is his receipt on a WONDERFUL veggie risotto;

Ingr.
1 onion
olivoil
150 g rice
100 ml white wine
300ml veg. stock
50 g parmesan
butter, salt and pepper
different vegetables like zucchini, cucumber, tomato...

Cut the onion in small pieces and fry it in the oil. Add the vegetables( cut in small pieces). Now you add the rice and let it fry just a minute.
Poor in the white wine and let the rice absorbe it. Now you add the stock little by little until the rice is cooked.
Add the parmesan with the butter, salt and pepper.
Enjoy!

Tickets for GA

This arch is made out of the fabric "calligo". I put some silver scotch underneath the fabric and diamond shaped cuttlebug embossing folder did the rest ( another tutorial from Jaine the other week...). To keep the diamond theme , I cut the plane tickets to Australia into diamond shapes. The "old" tickets are made with the cuttlebug aswell and they were cut out of old tickets too and then stamped with my dear friend Jaine's new stamp from "fusion art stamp".
This was a funny challenge!

ASIA for WS

This weeks challenge at Wednesdaystampers is Asia.
Doing this card I used a glimmer screen with glimmer mist,a fusion art stamp and a foam stamp from "la blanche".
The chinese paper is from our chinese restaurant here in our small village.
Hope you all like it!

Lord Frederick Leighton for gothic arches

Another lovely walk in the rainy autumn forest - and believe it or not, the greyhounds were there again!
Is it true that a greyhound is the most stupid dog alive?

To be honest - I never heard of this chap before. But when I look at his paintings, I have to admit that I like what I see and for me, he seemed to like women...'
So , what did I do...?
I used stamps from Panduro, Inque and Paperbag studios.
Thanks for looking!

orange and black GA

I just couldn't resist...
This arch is for Ann-Sophie who soon will leave Luxemburg. I made it to remind her of the special friendship she has had and hopefully will ever have with my daughter Emilie.

26th of October

For our family the 26th of october is a very special day - Austrian national day (where we lived many years ago), the first day with my becoming husband, moving to Luxemburg, our daughter got the diagnosis diabetes mellitius 1, and many, many other good or bad things.... and it all seems to happen around this date!
20 years ago we packed our baby Oliver and the parrot Bingo into the plane and we moved from Austria to Luxemburg. 18 years ago we officially moved into our house where we still live. And 10 years ago my beautiful daughter had to be carried into the hospital where she got the diagnosis diabetes mellitius 1.
YES, you can have a good life with diabetes and YES you don't have to change many things to keep going, BUT FOR HEAVENS' SAKE - it is a struggle! If someone would ask me who my worst enemy would be, without any doubt I would answer - Diabetes!
SO, for us this date is a big date in the calender - never to know what will happen next - good or bad...
I hope that this year it will be a good year.

I was very happy that my "risqué" was chosen to be one of the samplers on GA this week - you never know when that will happen...

My youngest daughter has to say farewell to one of her best friends ( danish , but brought up in Lux.b.). The whole family has to move to Denmark because of buisiness and because this girl has never lived in Denmark it will be a big change in her life.
We wish you and your family the very, very best ,dear Ann-Sophie!

And because this girl is a very strong girl with her own mind , I'm not worried. She will make her own way - I'm sure of that. Good luck !

Happy Halloween!!!

The challenge on Wednesdaystampers this week is "Halloween" and I decided NOT to do anything... BUT my husband is watching football and my ironing wasn't exciting enough after a hard day at work AND a hard day walking and driving around Luxemburg the whole afternoon.

So - here is the result of "basement mixed media";
Stamps from Stampotique, Stamps away and Artemio. The cuttlebug made the ghost (thank you for ordering that die for me dear Katherine!), I drew a pumpkin and coloured it with distress inks, the trick or treat bag( and bat) is a cut-off from my patchwork fabric, the girl is from an old photo (she looks just like a girl from my work)and that hat is from a magazine...
Can you spot the Stampotique stamp(Spykee)?

" risqué" for GA

Using the Triptych Gothic arch from Roni Johnson, the" vintage nude" stamps from paperartsy and a lot of alcoholinks - this is the result.

We had a long walk in the forest today but stupidly we forgot to bring the camera. The colours are stunning this time of the year. As we were walking I was very grateful that we don't have a dog anymore as suddenly we were surrounded by 10(!!!) greyhound dogs. After a while the owner came but WHAT IF we had been scared or if we still would have had our dog with us? These greyhounds would have eaten him! I think it is very respectless to let 10 dogs run of in the forest like that.

This week we will enjoy Robbie Williams' lifeconcert in the cinema - really exciting! Jaine bought the tickets so I expect a crazy evening with her - some singing, shouting and maybe even dancing... is it allowed to dance in the cinema?

"KEYS" for Wednesdaystampers

This weeks challenge on WS is " keys ".
I painted a canvas with the twin colour "turquoise blue - silver". Some old book paper was embossed with Quickutz embossing plate "earth" and then distressed and painted.
The key whole is from my fathers old tresures from different fleemarkets. I painted it with the twin colour and later with a copper tone.
The letters are stamps from Kelly Panacci.

I will use this key holder for my keys as lately I have forgotten them on various places - it must be a sign of age...!
Wish you all a lovely week!

Twilight for Gothic arches

I think it was very difficult this time - what colours exept for the grey tones CAN you use for a twilight? And I LOVE colours...
I haven't read the books yet - my daughter started the first one and because of school she didn't finish. So I suppose I have to wait for my turn...
By the way - talking about books - anyone who has seen the movie " my sisters keeper"?
I bought the book some years ago and I would like to see the movie. Is it as good as the book?

For this arch I used a tree from Stamps away and Pucinni's Muse from Stampington Company. Good night to all of you!

"double trouble" for wednesdaystampers

The challenge for Wednesdaystampers this week is "double trouble". When I found this picture I just knew I had to use it for this challenge. Double trouble could be double happiness too, but does this proud father realise what to expect in the near future ? I suppose the mother is resting...

Background is coloured with alcohol inks after stamping with stamps from hero arts and stampsaway.

Inventors Gothic arches

Well, well, well...
Many inventors and many inventions...
I wanted to go for Virginia Apgar because I was taught how to use her Apgar test during my education with newborn babies in Sweden a long time ago BUT then my daughter thought that the "slimsuit" was cool, so here we go...

..." takes off an inch off the waist and stomach while enhancing the bust and lifting the buttock area..."
What do you think of that ladies?
It was a Carol Wior who invented this slimsuit and got the patent for it in 1990.
I know - this is no revolution but to be honest - we all want to look the very best and maybe this slimsuit does help some ladies look better (or at least FEEL better).

I believe that we are all different and that is why we should look different too.I don't think it is healthy with to much overweight but I don't think it looks nice with too skinny faces either. As long as we feel fine and feel accepted the way we are - why make it a problem?
Wish you all a nice sunday no matter what you look like!!

Autumn patchwork

Luxemburg is getting colder now - I think I need to start a new fabric project!
Any ideas out there...?

Paperbag book chez "scrap a la fraise"

Last saturday Jaine and I went to a workshop organized by http://scrapalafraise.canalblog.com/ in France. A lovely lady called Caroline taught us how to paint on photos and to make this paperbag book.
I will show you the pages that I made with photos from our holiday in Denmark. A lovely week with Peters lovely parents.

"Autumn" for Gothic arches

The theme autumn makes me think orange and "earthy" colours.
Leaves fall down and it's easier to spot the owls. Spiderweb all over and a lot of spiders trying to get in to the house. I don't mind normally but when you see these big ones with long legs... - and they can run fast too...!!!
Scattered straw in the fields and so is the colour from T. Holtz called too.
Stamps from Heroarts, Stampaway and Stampington.
The cuttlebug helped me to make nice leaves and the hat should show you that it is getting colder.
Hope you all like it!

This is my " french corner " that will give me evening shadow in the summer 2010. I have been working with this a long time and finally it is finished. Until a couple of weeks ago we had grass growing here. I love the sun but when it's hot and sticky and NO WIND - I just need some shade... This was my garden project 2009 and next year I will get some "french" chairs...

"let the sun shine" for WS

"Let the sun shine" makes me think of the movie "Hair". I think that was the first time I fell in love...

The background was put through the cuttlebug and later coloured with distress inks.
The stamps have names but I have forgotten what design they are - sorry!
They are called "face", "geometrie" and "hip-hop".

We have still got the most wonderful weather here in Luxembourg and we are told it would stay like this for some days more.
And I am a terrible sun freak so I enjoy every day right now...

I hope you like my arch and maybe you can even feel the beat...

"this DRESS could make her day..." for wednesdaystampers

Sorry for the bad picture - don't know what happened there...
The colours are beautiful in real life!
I used the cuttlebug and my favorite scrap papers.
Stamps are from "stamp away" and "individual stamps".
Hope you like it!

"en älgpuss" = "a moose kiss"

I don't think that I will ever get this close to a life moose again. I thought it might bite me and this made me very uncomfortable. But of course the moose got its apple and I got a horrible picture!
