maybe the last one before the holidays???

 "just another tag"

Using gelli prints, transperancy film, a collage image from Flow, loads of different colors and even rub-ons from Studio Calico. I had fun again!

A little gift for the latest member in our local yoga-group.

Take care out there!

SDC no 163 = refresh it

This weeks challenge over at Stampotique was to refresh and use "old" stamps.

This chap here must have been one of my first Stampotique stamps. His name is Uncle Buck and I still love his sad teeth.

I made this card with embossing powder, stamps from Aladin and of course Uncle Buck , dylusion ink sprays, doodling and Faber Castell Pitt artist Pens. The letters are written through a stencil/mask.

Hope you like my sad looking Uncle Buck offering a flower and wanting to still be friends...

Happy thursday!

SDC no 145

This week the challenge over at Stampotique is all about flowers. BUT, as always, only using Stampotique stamps. My problem started here, as I don`t have any flower stamps from this company.
Problems are here to be solved - I used the big mushroom from Jo Capper -Sandon, cut of the top, doodled my own flowers and added some nice hearts on the top... It made me smile - my flowers look like these baobab trees in Madagascar! One day , I will go there and admire those gorgeous trees!

Wish you all a lovely week!

April showers for SDC

Not many mushrooms in april, but normally a lot of rain. This year Luxemburg didn`t have much rain in april, but it might come... ( and I needed an umbrella for the bumblebees so the mushroom had to do...)...AND the farmers would like some nice april showers!

This page doesn`t need many words( - hope you like it!) - it is my entry to the no 143 SDC april showers.

Enjoy the weather out there!

the word SILENCE , this time for Craft Barn

This spread is my entry for the Craft Barn`s Q&L Challenge which is Dazzle and/or Silence.

I used the lyrics from "Enjoy the silence" by Depeche Mode.

The whole spread is VERY much inspired by Dina Wakley - I feel that I need those colours right now - to warm me up in this cold and wet time of the year.

Stamps used; Stampotique, Zettiology, Hero art.

Wish you all a nice week!

Letter E for the craft barn challenge

Getting back to work after an almost 4 month break made me stressed. No crafty time and no me time. Today is the first time this week when I can allow myself to let go and enjoy my basement - juhu!

This page is for the the alpha challenge at the craft barn where the letter this fortnight is E.

I started of with the words evolution, evaluation ...and ended with education. Pleased that I finally would be able to use this gorgeous image of a teacher from de stempelwinkel, which I bought in Wiesbaden a year ago.
Other stamps used;
Unitystamps (Christy Tomlinson), My stamp box(border) and Crafty Individuals (dragonfly).
The background is made with dylusion ink sprays through SODAlicious stencils. And the of course, A LOT OF Washitape...

I had fun!
Hope to see you soon again!

Würfel/cube for Creavil

I haven't joined the Creavil challenges for a long time now. But as  I saw the challenge theme "cube", I thought it was so difficult , I had to try...

I used old slide mounts, glued and kept together with masking tape. I gessoed over it, coloured with dylusion inks and stamped words on each side; This dice/cube will now decorate our dinner table every sunday - the idea is that one person rolls the dice and the word he/she "gets" will start a small discussion around the table. We tried it today and we did get some good laughs!!!

So here we are - my contribution to Creavils no 46 challenge cube.

See you soon with another blogpost...

Calendar card no 6 - june.

The 6th card for the challenge at the craft barn.

I used patterned paper bits, gesso, calendar card, felt, dylusion spray inks and the cuttlebug (spooky fence+flower with heart and stem).

The weather here is grey, grey, grey and wet, wet, wet... not a nice monday! It can only get better!

Wish you a nice and crafty day!

My "indian summer" for Art Journal Journey

Happy monday out there!

This week could have had a better start, but who am I to complain...?

At least I can put these pages on the blog and join Art Journal Journey's theme Indian summer.

We had an indian summer a couple of weeks ago, but now warm weather is gone. We still have the gorgeous colours though and I expect it to get even better and more colourful in the end of this month.

My postcard for Artful times.

I made this card for the artful times. It is the first time that I join their challenge, and it seems to be a nice one. They would like to see postcards with letters or script.
Only 2 weeks away from our last holiday, I 'm still in the traveling mood - that's why I use the word "travel".

The background is made by cut out words from My Stamp Box and Kesi' art. After the layer of gesso I sprayed some dylusion inks through a stencil from the crafters workshop.
The letters are my "slim Jim"'s, cut out with the cuttlebug, and finally, the tag is a freebie from the magazine Scrap 365.

...and - i can't help myself to get away from those colors - blue, green and orange are still my very favorites..!

Luxemburg is wet, cold and very dark this tuesday evening. Autumn did arrive at last.

Happy crafty hours!

The whatever no 4.

This is my entry to Nathalie Kalbachs creative storytelling the whatevers no 4.

I think it is impossible to see if the child is a boy or a girl in that picture. That reminded me of my cousin in Sweden. He had the most beautiful hair and his parents kept it quit long even though he was/is a boy. As if they wanted him to be a girl. After a while my cousin cut his hair off and the story ended. I can imagine the father in this picture struggling with the same feelings. He would love to show the world how beautiful his sons hair is , but the social norms forbid it... ( nowadays everybody is allowed to have long hair - I see many children at my work, who would prefer to have a shorter haircut, and the parents can't get them self to take the child to the hairdresser ).

I'm waiting for the photos from the last vacation to arrive - would love to finish the mini book I started...

I had fun creating this new page !

The whatevers no 2

Hello again!

We sure had some nice days in Denmark. Now we are all back to work ( even girlies earning money in their school holidays) and today was the first day with "me time" in my basement. Didn't think I would ever be happy for rainy days, but a thunderstorm came in over Luxemburg yesterday and this saturday is very wet.

My dear husband took me to town where he bought me a birthday present (VERY nice!) and we went to our favorite indian restaurant for lunch. GREAT!

This is the story and the page to my no 2 page for the whatevers...

Mathilda married quit late in life. Her husband was a lovely man, some years older than her and she really loved him. She loved her children and  enjoyed life. The only thing she missed was some "quality time"with her girlfriends. Their children were so much older than Mathildas children and she was really longing for to get as much "time off" as they had.

And now THIS happened...
...
...
...

I used my own technique for the background, using baby wipes, dylusion colours and a lot of layers.
The stamps are from my minds eye, inkadinkado, basic grey clear stamps and paperartsy.

See you soon again  - it might rain tomorrow too!!!

Hugs

Scrapping the music!

This is my scrap page for scrapping the music. The music is provided by Tyrone Wells and his song "Freedom".

I simply fell in love with the music! Great tune, superb rythm and lovely lyrics...

I shot this picture at work. This little boy, so fragile and depending.

Being a parent can be hard work. And THEN? We keep being parents , but we are not allowed to get involved anymore. We keep worrying, asking questions and coming with our "good" suggestions. It is very hard to let go...

.... so open up your hands  - no more holding on...

I truthfully wish all the parents of teenagers good luck!

Beautiful song, mr Tyrone Wells!
