wednesdaystampers' challenge this week

...what a week!
The challenge at wednesdaystampers this week is " fancy dress". This dress might not be the fanciest but at least my dancing girl is wearing a dress!!! The dress is made out of old book pages and they almost fell apart when I tried to paint them.
The canvas is made for my friend Marie-Claire, who is celebrating her birthday this coming up saturday. The idea came out of the magazine " entre les artists". AND because I stamped the lettres I thought I could put it on the blog and join the challenge...

"stitched" for wednesdaystampers

...hello world! ...back from holidays and after spending the first day sorting out laundry in the basement, I allowed myself to surf the net again.
"Stitched" is the theme for WS this week. I made this journal page thinking of my mother a couple of weeks ago, and now I use it for this theme.

The only stamps used, are the swirls. The image is from Tuscan rose and I used several papers and yarns to finish the page. As you can see, the stitching is made by machine. Just love the text!

I put it on my blog now, thinking of my friend Katherine , who is on holidays in Australia with a part of her family, and the rest of the family still in Europe. I'm sure her husband must miss her a lot!

Take care, dear , in the land down under!

text messaging for GPP crusade 43

At the GPP this month we are supposed to try text messaging as we do the crusade no 43.
As I went on holidays I found old magazines and I enjoyed myself cutting out words about holidays. In the end I had to add some sad words aswell ( written by my old typewriter in the summer house) :"jävla förväntningar!!!" = xxxxing expectations!!!.... because every year I believe family life will be smooth and sunny, and every year I have to accept that life isn't that simple.

We did have sunny days too, but why will I never learn that lesson...?

(... already looking forward to my next holidays, because I'm just one of those who cannot stop hoping...!)

happy august!

Turquoise for WS wednesdaystampers

This is my journal cover in turquoise. I made it a while ago as I wanted to try to glue on fabric. I tore paper , wallpaper, notebooks, fabric and ribbon into strips or pieces and glued it with gel medium onto callico. Before it dried I covered it with silk paper and glued once more. As it was completely dry it had this strange , soft touch - almost like rubber. I decorated it with beads and different stampings.
Now I store quotes and journal pages in it.
Because of this lovely colour I thought it could be my entry to the challenge at wednesdaystampers this week, where the theme is "turquoise".

Have a nice week everyone!

Studio L3 "inking grunge"

Page 39 in Tim Holtz's book " a compendium of curiosities".

This week at studio L3 the theme is "inking grunge".

I used grungepaper with my nestabilities and a heart aswell as the hinge of grungeboard.
Right now I just adore the colours olive, tumbled glass, weathered wood and tea dye, so of course these were the chosen ones for this project...
Stamps are mostly from Cherry Pie and Paperartsy.
Great fun! Again...

( and now I have VERY inky fingers...!)

Gothic arches back with owls!

...so here they go again...!

... arches are back, all right...!

I used stamps from Hero art, la blanche and la fourmie.
For the first time I had the opportunity to use some "scraptape" - like it alot!
In swedish an owl would say "wuhu" or "uhu". What does an english/american/australian owl say?
Wish you all a nice week!
