City New York for GA

Holidays are over.
We had some lovely weeks in Sweden and one week in a summer house in Denmark. We met the family and enjoyed the lovely nature of Scandinavia. Yesterday we came back and the tan is still looking good...
I have to admit that I was happy this afternoon when I could sneak down the stairs into my basement to try out my new things that I got for my birthday. Thank you, Peter, and thank you, Jaine!!!
As you can see I'm still crazy 'bout corrugated card...
Stamps are from "lgbrushes" and "stamps away".
So why New York?
Well - I have never been there and I believe it must be a stunning city with so many people walking in different directions. AND I could use my urban stamps for the first time!!!

And who is this pretty face? Let me present to you - Petra the bowler. She is a scrapper too and she has a blog with challenges ; http://paradises.blogg.se
We met on a " mini mara" in Sweden where we spent 10 hours together crafting. Lovely!

And who is this little lady? My very good friend Jaine who came with her family to join us in Sweden this summer... in fact , she is still up there. We went to this mini mara together and we sure had a lovely day...

Hope you like my "after holiday gothic arch".

"Bathing beauty" for GA

This weeks theme for Gothic arches is "bathing beauties" but I did only find one image that I wanted to use, so here it is...
Right now I'm very much into this corrugated card and I have to use for everything. So this had to be an arch with a corrugated background - hope you like it!

Marie Antoinette GA

Was she ever happy?
Living in a foreign country, only with one purpose in life - to produce a " dauphin" for France , trying to amuse herself with nice jewellery, gambling ..., having all the eyes of France watching, judging and in the end chopping her head of...
Did she have some real fun in between? I certainly hope so...

Using the ranger distress inks to get the french colours and the masks from Tim Holtz to get the feeling of beeing in prison - not to be able to live a life that she would have chosen.
Stamp from paperartsy and Jaines basement.

"DREAM" for wednesdaystampers

Back from a hectic weekend in Denmark. Met the family, celebrated and got stuck in heavy trafic on the way home. Happy to be home again even if we had a good time there!

This weeks challenge on WS is " dream " and I started thinking of my dreams.
Stamps from Kelly Panacci and the flower is from a child who came to my work for the last time today. Time pass, children grow and we have to accept the changes even though it hurts sometimes...

colourful card for wednesdaystampers

This weekend we are going to Denmark to celebrate my brother in law's birthday. So of course I had to make him a card...

He is a colourful person with a lot of humor - he still smokes and he likes a glass of red. He lives in Denmark , loves the see and has been in the shipping buisiness. Now he is into quality of harwest. Lots of fun when he is around... HAPPY 50 JÖrgen!!!

Many different stamps getting hot here - the adds are from old magazines and as you might know by now - I collect strange things.

Take care and enjoy the "crazyness"...

ATC gothic shape

This time I got the idea from a book. But working with it it turned out to be NOT like in the book but just totally me... I know - many people like to keep their art simple but I can't help myself sometimes. I have to continue and add more and more things until I'm satisfied.
Here I wanted to keep the copper tone but now you can hardly see it (I coloured the green/blue paper behind the face with copper before dabbing it over with that Patina green). So I had to add more copper to get the right effect...

Stamps from Stampotique and Hero Arts.

"country flag colours" by WS

My home country is Sweden so of course I had to use the swedish flag colours for wednesdaystampers latest challenge "country flag colours".
As every crafter knows, the colours blue and yellow get green when we mix them, and that suits my home country too. Sweden is a very green country compared with many other cointries - not only colourwise but also thinking alot about our green planet earth and trying to take care of it.

Stamps: bricks and mortar 2 from paperartsy, reindeer from vielseidig verlag and the background birds from magenta.
The ATC is coloured in distress inks...

"HEJA SVERIGE!" = "go sweden!"

Luxemburg is very hot and humid this week. I hope it will be a little colder on sunday when Jaine, me and my better part will do the 10 km city-jogging for the first time in our lifes...

Have a good week everybody!

Lisa

Quote by~Sai Baba
Life is a song..sing it
Life is a game..play it
Life is a challenge..meet it
Life is a dream.. realize it
Life is a sacrifice..offer it
Life is love..enjoy it

I found this quote on my friend Gingers blog. Because my daughter is in hospital, having a bad time, bored and waiting to go home, I would like to send these words to her! Get well and strong and don't forget to be good!

"Wings" for Gothic arches

"Why can't I fly away..." ...like in Moulin rouge...
(Sorry, I made a mistake - the text should be "someday I'll fly away..." - my daughter corrected me this afternoon - sorry 'bout that!)

Background; punchinella with ranger products.
Stamps; crafty induviduals, paperartsy and inkadinkado

Rock and roll for Wednesdaystampers

"Rock and roll":

"1. a style of popular music that derives in part from blues and folk music and is marked by a heavily accented beat and a simple repetitive phrase structure..."

This text is from a "Rock King" collection from DCWV and the embellishments on my card comes from this collection too.
The text on the card is a part of a text from Queens " bohemian rapsody" - on of the best songs ever written I would say.
The blue card is distressed with 3 different colours and the swirls are stamped with white stazon.

Postcard for GA

This weeks theme by Gothic Arches is "postcard", so I choose an old postcard, cut out the image and put it on my arch together with a stamp and different embellishments.
The background is done with distress inks where I used my cuttlebug, cut out swirls and covered the background with them before I coloured it.

Lovely to get started again!

Fashion for wednesdaystampers

In my art journal I allow myself to get a bit crazy sometimes.
This weeks challenge for wednesdaystampers is "fashion" and I sure enjoyed getting crazy with my daughter in the basement watching "Mamma Mia" at the same time.

The background is painted with acrylics and I added some purple shine (LuminArte)to get a sparkly effect ( hard to see on the photo though). The stamps are from stampotique, Jaines basement and a fashion cube I bought somewhere.

I like fashion but I don't follow it. I love all the new colours each year but I always end up buying my stuff from a designer in Sweden - Gudrun Sjôden.
My girls love fashion and I suppose I did so too when I was a teenager...

What else this week?
A lovely meeting in Ikea with Laury55. Even the coffee tastes well in good company!
Now Jaine and I will join the workshops organized by scrapalafraise. I'm SOOO much looking forward to this!
See you...
